Joiē̼do Se (/ʤoj̼/ /do/ [tab] [tired (needing sleep); tired (needing rest)]) is a temperate Town located in the Síhvqulu Region of the Tetbur Commune.
The name Joiē̼do Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Joiē̼do Se was founded by Dyesho Davis, who was culturaly Tauric.
Climate
Joiē̼do Se has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Joiē̼do Se receives an average of 155 cm/y (61 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Joiē̼do Se covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 5292 m (17362 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Joiē̼do Se was founded durring the late 11th century, by Dyesho Davis. The establishment of Joiē̼do Se was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Dyesho Davis electing to pay people to resettle in Joiē̼do Se.
Joiē̼do Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Joiē̼do Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.
Joiē̼do Se is buildings are arranged arround a network of crampt cobblestone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. Joiē̼do Se's robustly designed timber walls has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.
Right off the bat Joiē̼do Se hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. This wealth has brought the town nothing but neurosis, if you can believe your eyes. Everyone acts as if you’re out to take a piece of them. Every door is locked and every window barred. Efforts are made to make you feel welcome, but only in the public areas of the town, particularly the market.
Civic Infrastructure
Joiē̼do Se has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Joiē̼do Se.
Joiē̼do Se has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Joiē̼do Se has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Joiē̼do Se has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Joiē̼do Se's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Joiē̼do Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Joiē̼do Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Joiē̼do Se has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Cultural Notes
Joiē̼do Se's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its striking sculptural forms and often dazzling ornamental detail that characterizes the buildings general shape. The radiant colors, rich patterns, and symmetrical silhouettes employed by this style were backed up by rich decorative features including gardens, courtyards, extruded arches, domes, pointed domes, vaulted ceilings, elaborate painted and inlaid designs, and decorative sculptures.
Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is long in Joiē̼do Se.
The Meerkat near Joiē̼do Se are known to be more aggressive than normal.
Joiē̼do Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 2 via moments of science.
